The are the only international performance tables to judge world-class universities across all of their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
It looked at 800 universities worldwide and praised Bristol across a range of categories, highlighting the high number of citations for Bristol academics in research papers.
The latest rise in the rankings builds on the University’s success in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, in which it was ranked among the top five institutions in the UK for its research.
Professor Hugh Brady, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bristol, said: “Bristol is renowned for its academic excellence and it is very pleasing to see this recognised in these latest international rankings. This continued success is testament to the achievements of our staff and our students, as well as to our ongoing investment in the University's facilities and estate.”
