University of Bristol climbs Complete University Guide 2019 league table

The University of Bristol has been ranked 15th in the Complete University Guide – a rise of two places this year.

The , published today [25 April], shows 21 out of Bristol’s 39 subjects are ranked in the top 10 for their discipline, with (called ³Ô¹ÏÍø) ranked 1st in the country, up from 3rd last year.

Other highly-ranked subjects include (2nd), (3rd), (4th) and (5th).

The is a widely-respected and cited online ranking of over 140 UK universities in one main table, plus 70 individual subject tables to help students compare courses at different universities.

Its main table is based on 10 measures: student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, entry standards, student/staff ratio; spending on academic services; spending on student facilities; good honours degrees; graduate prospects and completion.

Bristol has the highest scores for research intensity, good honours and degree completion in the South West region, and also the best student-staff ratio.

It comes as new data from the , which highlights the world's top universities in a range of popular subject areas, confirms that 29 subjects taught by the University of Bristol are highly rated within the world’s top 100.
