Bristol geologist who modernised volcanology wins 2015 Vetlesen Prize

Professor Stephen Sparks of the University of Bristol, a geologist whose work has improved understanding of how volcanoes work and our ability to forecast deadly volcanic eruptions, will receive the 2015 Vetlesen Prize, an award considered to be the Nobel Prize of the earth sciences.

Airbus Group gives financial support to female aerospace students

Four University of Bristol aerospace engineering undergraduates were presented with the Airbus Group Scholarship at an event held this term at the University. The scholarships were awarded to Kate Goldup; Kathryn Pugh; Megan Reynolds and Joanna Savage by Professor Ian Lane from the Airbus Group.
