Bristol academics elected Fellows of the British Academy 17 July 2014 Professor Carol Propper of the Department of Economics and Professor Tony Prosser of the University of Bristol Law School have achieved the rare distinction of being elected Fellows of the British Academy, the national academy for the humanities and social sciences.

Health pioneers celebrated at awards for life-changing chemistry innovations 31 October 2019 University of Bristol spin-out, Rosa Biotech, was named as one of the most exciting health chemistry innovators in Europe after winning a Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Emerging Technologies 2019 award for its biosensing platform that mimics the mammalian olfactory (smelling) system. Rosa was one of two innovations to win the award and a share of £80,000 prize.

Bristol student wins grant to take him to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games 13 February 2018 University of Bristol student Dan Bethell has been awarded a UK Sport grant enabling him to compete in the Para-Badminton programme at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

University collaborates with At-Bristol on innovative Brain Lab workshops 22 September 2014 At-Bristol Science Centre, in collaboration with the University of Bristol, has been awarded a grant from the Wellcome Trust, in a UK first to lead an innovative and immersive series of workshops, using real human brain tissue to stimulate discussion about the social, ethical and legal issues around neuroscience and neuroscience research.
