Professor Peter Haggett, 1933-2025 13 March 2025 Peter Haggett, Professor of Urban and Regional Geography, passed away on 9 February at the age of 92. His colleagues and former students in the School of Geographical Sciences pay tribute to one of the discipline’s most distinguished scholars and a former Acting Vice-Chancellor of this University.

Jeremy Nicholls, 1958-2022 8 April 2022 Jeremy (Jerry) Nicholls, a cleaner in the Site Services team in the Physics Building, passed away suddenly on 21 March. Sally Hemmings and other colleagues offer some remembrances of Jerry.

Nick Talbot, 1977-2014 17 December 2014 Nick Talbot, a Bristol alumnus whose eclectic work as an experimental, alt-rock musician under the name Gravenhurst earned him an international reputation, has died at the age of 37.

Neil Burnie MRCVS, 1954-2014 26 November 2014 Bristol alumnus Neil Burnie (BVSc 1977), an internationally renowned vet and founder of the Bermuda Shark Project, died earlier this month in a tragic marine accident. His friend Robin Revell pays tribute to ‘the most unusual of veterinary surgeons’.
