Jon Rasbash, who was Professor of Computational Statistics and Director of the Centre for Multilevel Modelling, sadly passed away on 10 March. Harvey Goldstein, Fiona Steele and William Browne in the Graduate School of Education remember a wise, generous and inspirational colleague.

Eddie Sands, a research technician and superintendent in the Zoology and Psychology departments respectively, and a long-time chairman of the Bristol branch of the ASTMS Union, died on 13 January.
