More participants needed to complete UK-led Alzheimer’s disease drug trial 17 July 2017 People with Alzheimer's disease are already helping with a ground-breaking government-funded trial led by academics from the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Queen's University Belfast and University College London, and hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust, but even more people are needed to take part in the study.

Decline in CO2 cooled earth’s climate over 30 million years ago, scientists find 2 August 2021 New research led by the University of Bristol demonstrates that a decline in the concentration of atmospheric CO2 played a major role in driving Earth’s climate from a warm greenhouse into a cold icehouse world around 34 million years ago. This transition could be partly reversed in the next centuries due to the anthropogenic rise in CO2.

New guidance published to help GPs interpret Lateral Flow Device test results 2 July 2021 New guidance for GPs and other health professionals on how to interpret and communicate results from Lateral Flow Device (LFDs) tests based on the current understanding of the tests’ performance is published in the BMJ. Researchers from the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, and Trinity College Dublin have devised a calculator which aims to help doctors, who are increasingly asked by patients what they should do after receiving their results, to better advise patients on what their LFD test result means.
